Police Apprehend Suspected Kilers Of NDLEA Official In Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Police Command on Friday says it arrested the suspected killers of an official of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, Paul Okon Anwana.

It was gathered that the late Anwana was killed on April 18, 2022, when the suspected criminals who claimed to be commercial motorcyclists stormed his residence in the Karu Local Government Area of the state and used several weapons on him until he died.

While parading the suspects in Lafia, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi, explained that the suspects also planned to set ablaze, the residence of the victim, but they were arrested by police officers attached to the anti-cultism unit of the command before being able to execute the plan.He said, “A distress call was received that commercial motorcyclists were attacking a National Drug Law Enforcement Agency personnel who was identified as Paul Okon Anwana and they were about to set his residence ablaze.“Upon receipt of the information, the Divisional Police officer, New Karu Division, Anti-cultism unit and Crack team led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, swiftly mobilised to the scene where the victim was found in the pool of his blood.“He was rushed to the hospital by the police where the doctor confirmed him dead.“Reacting to the ugly development, a manhunt for the perpetrators of the act was launched. Consequently, via painstaking investigation, twenty-one suspects who actively participated in the lynching of the victim to death were arrested.”CP Soyemi mentioned the names of the suspects to include Mansur Ishaq, 30 years, Adamu Ado, 22 years, Kamala Abdulrahaman, 15 years, Murtala Salisu, 15 years, Salisu Lawal, 37 years, Anas Ibrahim, 19 years, Imrana Ibrahim 26 years, Zayanu Usman, 35 years, Abdulahi Lawal 22 years, among others.He noted that stones, metals, and other hard objects used in the commission of the offence were recovered as exhibits, adding that the suspects had made useful statements that would help to conduct a proper investigation into the matter.While parading other suspects arrested for various crimes across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state, CP Soyemi warned criminal elements to desist from terrorising the state and be good citizens as the police would not fail to arrest and prosecute anyone found wanting.Send

NSCDC arrests six suspected railway line vandals in Enugu

A six-man gang allegedly specialised in vandalising railway lines was on Thursday, 28th April 2022, apprehended by the Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Denny Manuel, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, in a statement explained that the suspects were apprehended on 28th April 2022 at Ubahu Community in Enugu East Local Government Area of the state in collaboration with the Garrison Command, 82 Division of the Nigerian Army.
He further explained that a series of intelligence synergy between the Corps and the Nigerian Army made the arrest possible.
The spokesman gave the names of the suspects as Zakari Ishaka, 25, of Katsina; Amadu Danladi 40, of Kano; Abdulkareem Haruna 19 of Katsina; Ousman Idris, 19, Kano; Musa Hamza, 23, Kano; and Arma Yau Magaji, 42, Katsina.
The statement stated, “After sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering about their nefarious activities, our men arrested the suspects while they were conveying the vandalised railway slippers belonging to the Nigeria Railway Corporation Eastern District Enugu, in a truck with registration number BSA 189 XA.”
It added that items recovered from the suspects include a sizeable quantity of rail slippers and rail tracks cut to size and other railway materials, and a truck with registration BSA 189 XA.
It said that the suspects are already helping Corps in its investigation to unravel other culprits and their sponsors.
Denny Manuel then appealed to the citizens of Enugu State to always provide the command with useful information to curb the activities of criminals and safeguard public infrastructure.

Police Apprehend Armed Robbery Suspects In Lagos, Recover Arms

Policemen of the Ilemba Hausa Police Division on said it’s command seven armed robbery/murder suspects and recovered a silver-colored Sienna bus with Reg No. LSR 509 HB, a locally made double barrel pistol and four live cartridges at Mojirade Street, Shibiri, Lagos. 

The prompt arrest of the Robbery suspects followed a tip-off from Lagosians to the Divisional Police Officer of Ilemba Hausa Division who led his men to the criminal hideout where seven members of the gang were arrested while others fled. 

The suspects include one Esther Newman ‘F’, Joel Anaba ‘m’, Ruben Ude ‘m’, Chinedu Emenike ‘m’, Abuchi Peter ‘m’, Chima Simon ‘m’ and James John ‘m’.  Items recovered in the Sienna bus include one locally made double barrel pistol, four live cartridges, one machete, one knife, two screwdrivers, twelve mobile phones, one access bank ATM card with the name Newton Newman, some substances suspected to be Indian Hemp and one dead snail. Confirming their arrest to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspects are also being investigated for the murder of one Sgt. Edison Fulman attached to Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos on April 14, 2022.Send

NSCDC Apprehends Six Railway Line Vandals In Enugu

The Enugu Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC says it has apprehended a six-man gang specialising in the vandalisation of railway lines in the state.
