NDLEA Launches Manhunt for Notorious Lekki Drug Dealer

NDLEA Initiates Search for Drug Dealer Operating in Lekki

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has initiated a manhunt for Sowunmi Ayodeji Kayode, a well-known drug dealer operating in Lekki, Lagos. According to NDLEA’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the dealer managed to escape capture by driving his car into an NDLEA officer.

Raid at Suspect’s Residence

The agency’s anti-narcotics officers executed a search operation at Kayode’s residence located at 2/3 Adetola Ayeni Close, Lekki, Lagos. The action was based on credible intelligence suggesting his involvement in illicit drug dealing.

Dramatic Escape

When NDLEA officers arrived at Kayode’s residence, he was not present. However, he returned while the search was in progress. In a surprising turn of events, upon spotting the officers, he reversed his car, rammed into an NDLEA officer, knocked down his gate, and crashed his vehicle into a neighboring compound’s fence. He then fled the scene on foot.

Substantial Drug Discovery

Despite Kayode’s escape, NDLEA authorities discovered a significant stash of 10.5 kilograms of a substance known as “Loud,” suspected to be an illicit drug, at his residence.

Injured Officer

The NDLEA officer who was hit by Kayode’s car sustained multiple injuries and suffered a compound fracture in both legs. He is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

Agency’s Response

NDLEA Chairman, Mohamed Buba Marwa, has ordered the deployment of operational assets to track down the fugitive drug dealer. Additionally, Marwa has ensured that the injured officer receives proper medical care for a swift recovery.
